The Mammoth Table

The concept for this table is an honesty of form.  Nothing is hidden.  The four legs stand proud of the tabletop, expressing their presence.  The wood slivers mostly come from scrap wood that was too small for any other foreseeable use.  They combine for an engaging visual texture though the surface has been sanded smooth.  The all-thread and fasteners, which not only bind together the tabletop, but also connect the legs, are left exposed at the ends.  This makes for simple assembly/disassembly when moving or for shipping from the point of manufacture.  Finally, the table is finished with only a clear-coat of polyurethane and no stain so the natural colors of the wood reign true.
